ABOUT ME
I am a historian and philosopher of science. Currently, I am a research fellow at the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University. My PhD is from the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology at the University of Toronto.
My research focuses on what it is to act in a rational way in an uncertain world. As a philosopher, I explore the nature of epistemic capacities employed in rational actions. I am particularly interested in those rational actions that we do from habits. As a historian, I delve into how and why philosophers, psychologists, and economists conceptualized rationality in the way that they did during the interwar period in Britain. I use my historical findings in the service of my philosophical research on rationality.
I grew up in Mashhad, Iran. I’m an advocate of Philosophy for Children (P4C), a post-rock music enthusiast, and a Manchester United fan.
